San Luis Valley Health Receives $12,000 and 2023 Lighthouse Award from the American Excess Insurance Exchange

Some hard work, dedication to patient care, and revamped processes led to San Luis Valley Health receiving a 2023 Lighthouse Award from the American Excess Insurance Exchange. Along with the award was a $12,000 check. SLV Health was recognized for its outstanding achievement in “Reducing Length of Stay for Improved Patient Outcomes.” This national award celebrates excellence through innovation and SLVH is one of five award winners promoting patient safety.

Gunnison Valley Health Helps Ensure Local Childcare Facility Remains Operational

On Friday, March 1, 2024, Wonderland Nature School will transition to Little Adventures Child Care Center. The change is the culmination of months of work by the Wonderland Nature School Board of Directors to address budgetary and operational issues. The transition will ensure there is no disruption in care for families and the employees of Wonderland Nature School do not lose their livelihood. The childcare facility will see no disruption in service and will continue providing care for families in the Gunnison Valley.

Vail Health Behavioral Health Partnered with Building Hope Summit County to Survey the Needs, Access and Gaps in Eagle and Summit County

To better understand the accessibility, usage, perception and gaps in its behavioral health services, Vail Health Behavioral Health has partnered with Building Hope Summit County to survey Eagle and Summit counties.

“We want to make sure that we’ve got the ability to get access quickly and efficiently to anyone who’s looking for it,” said Dana Erpelding, senior operations director at Vail Health. “We can’t do that unless we get community feedback and community input … and we want to make sure that everybody’s voice is heard.”

Valley View Hospital Named on Becker’s List for Best Hospitals for Cardiology in 23 States

Per Beckers ASC Review: “Healthgrades recently released its rankings of the top hospitals for cardiology in 23 states… To be considered for a cardiac care ranking, each state must have more than seven hospitals that can be evaluated based on patient outcomes in the treatment of heart attack, heart failure, and coronary interventional procedures.”

Valley View has been selected as one of only five hospitals in Colorado to be designated as a top provider of cardiology in the United States.
