It’s not a mirage in Fruita at the FHW Hospital. There really are long-term hospital beds for patients who need a little more time to heal, a little more rehabilitative treatment, and a little more rest before going home. People recovering from a major surgery, a stroke, a traumatic brain injury, a car crash, the list goes on. These patients routinely choose the Family Health West Hospital for their long-term intensive rehabilitative healing care.

In an innovative partnership that blends education with practical work experience, the Roaring Fork School District and Valley View Hospital have come together to offer a unique opportunity for high school students. This program allows them to participate in a paid medical assistant apprenticeship, providing a significant head start into the medical field.

“This impressive achievement directly correlates to the positive culture at YVMC,” said Soniya Fidler, the hospital’s president. “Not only do our staff and providers care for our entire community and those who visit Steamboat Springs, they genuinely care for each other. The Fire Starter Award is presented to a person who keeps the true essence of trauma care alive and flourishing. Fire Starters ignite the flame that guides and supports the trauma community in Southeastern Colorado. This individual strives every day to keep our trauma patients safe or has made a significant contribution to the trauma community.

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is excited to announce its adoption of a program to accept unused or expired prescription medications for safe disposal for community use.

This drop-off kiosk is conveniently located in the lobby of the Emergency Department at the main hospital campus at 1000 Rush Drive in Salida. Any patient of the hospital or clinics, community member or members of the public can utilize this kiosk safely and anonymously.

Recognized for her exceptional mentorship, she has guided numerous Bachelor and Master of Social Work candidates, leaving a lasting impact on their educational journey.

Oxehealth, a global leader in intelligent patient monitoring for behavioral health, today announced its first US partnership: with SummitStone Health Partners, the largest not-for-profit behavioral health services provider in Larimer County, Colorado.

Thanks in large part to the considerable charitable donations by the late Picie Hylton and Robert and Bernice Delnay, the Delnay Guest House broke ground on the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center campus Feb. 27.

The guest house will have 10 fully-furnished units. Four units will be for patients, caregivers or family members that live at least 30 miles away. Six units will be affordable short-term rental units for hospital employees while they seek more permanent housing.

Intermountain Health St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction is donating $3 million to support the city’s new Community Recreation Center (CRC) at Matchett Park, reinforcing Intermountain’s commitment to helping area residents live the healthiest lives possible.
