The center houses the HopeWest PACE program, which delivers wide-ranging services for older adults. HopeWest PACE is a local fulfillment of a national Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services program known as PACE, which stands for Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly.

HopeWest PACE is one of 150 programs nationwide that carry out the PACE mandate to keep qualifying older adults like Powell living in their homes by providing them with a holistic bundle of health care and social and emotional support. It includes primary and specialty medical care, prescription medications, physical and occupational therapy, recreation, dietary counseling, and mental health counseling.

Valley View has been officially recognized as “pediatric ready” by the Colorado Pediatric Preparedness for the Emergency Room (COPPER) Program, marking the first Level III Trauma Center in Colorado to be COPPER verified. As a Level III Trauma Center, Valley View provides 24-hour coverage by emergency medicine physicians, general surgeons and anesthesiologists. This prestigious designation highlights Valley View’s commitment to providing exceptional emergency care tailored specifically to the needs of pediatric patients.

Western Slope hospitals contribute hundreds of millions of dollars to the local, and, at times, rural economies each year, according to two separate reports commissioned by the hospitals themselves.

Valley View, an independent, not-for-profit health system based in Glenwood Springs, is proud to announce it has received the 2023 Perinatal Luminary Award for the Colorado AIM: Substance Use Disorder Collaborative (CO AIM: SUD) from Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC). CPCQC honored Valley View with a celebratory luncheon for Valley View on Monday, March 4.

About 17 months ago, ceremonial shovels shifted a bit of ground at the vacant lot across from Hobby Lobby. Steadily, from behind construction fences, steel beams began rising to form the Montrose Regional Health Ambulatory Care Center. On Monday, several hospital services and divisions will have moved to the center and be open to serve patients, as will the new offices for Cedar Point Health, a private, physician-owned practice.

Gunnison Valley Health is excited to announce the launch of an installation project for a cutting-edge MRI unit at the hospital. Scheduled to commence on Tuesday, March 26, this initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to providing top-tier healthcare services to the community. The new MRI unit is expected to be fully operational by June 12, with minimal service disruption ensured through the provision of a mobile MRI unit onsite during installation.

It’s not a mirage in Fruita at the FHW Hospital. In an innovative partnership that blends education with practical work experience, the Roaring Fork School District and Valley View Hospital have come together to offer a unique opportunity for high school students. This program allows them to participate in a paid medical assistant apprenticeship, providing a significant head start into the medical field.
