On August 2, 2023, SLV Health’s Care Coordination team was recognized for their partnership with Center for Restorative Programs.

UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center and Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center were among the community hospitals lauded for their clinical excellence, compassionate care and economic impact on their communities. The Becker’s editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on several outside rankings and ratings organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CMS, The Leapfrog Group and The Chartis Center for Rural Health. 

The latest addition to Aspen Valley Hospital is a da Vinci, and it’s creating a lot of buzz. It’s not a priceless painting or an artifact of 15th Century sculptor, painter, scientist, architect and theorist Leonardo da Vinci. Rather, the Hospital is introducing the state-of-the-art da Vinci robotic surgical system that shares the Italian polymath’s name.

Animas Surgical Hospital, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Southwest Memorial Hospital, UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center, Vail Health Hospital Were all listed by Becker’s. CMS shares 10 HCAHPS star ratings with Becker’s based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures. The staff responsiveness star rating combines data from two HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how quickly patients felt they received help after pressing the call button or asking for help to use the restroom or a bedpan.

Centura Mercy Hospital, Vail Health, and Rio Grande Hospital were all listed. CMS annually assigns star ratings to hospitals nationwide based on their performance across five quality categories. 

Thanks to a generous donation from Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink, Gunnison Valley Health is one of the only hospitals on the Western Slope to offer automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) screenings for women with dense breast tissue. This breast cancer screening is specifically developed to help doctors find cancers hidden in dense breast tissue, which may be missed by mammography.

The hospital is adding a 4th robot, and being such a staple of surgical procedures now, Saint Mary’s robotics program will only continue to grow.

Recently, Memorial Regional Health celebrated their Best of Moffat County win for Best Place to Work. This is the second year in a row they were selected as winners by the voters.
