One of the many “behind the scenes” duties of the nurse leaders is to submit data to several organizations. It was noted by SOAR* in Quarter 3 of 2024, that SLVH received the Data Star Award! Along with this recognition is a small monetary award that will go towards education for the outstanding OB staff at SLVH.

The Memorial Regional Health Foundation received a $2,500 grant award from the Yampa Valley Electric – Operation Roundup and a $2,500 grant from the Western Colorado Community Foundation to upgrade the entry way at MRH’s Specialty Clinic, 600 Russel Street.
With funds raised by the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s office pink patch project, they were able to donate a total of $2935.00 ($1467.50 to each hospital).

UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center recently was recognized with a 2024 Excellence in Patient Experience award in the small hospital category from National Research Corp. Health. YVMC ranked first out of 212 hospitals in the small hospital category, according to a UCHealth media notice.
Mind Springs Health is the Western Slope’s largest provider of counseling and therapy for mental wellness and assists individuals and families dealing with and recovering from substance abuse and addiction. Covering a 23,000-square mile service area in western Colorado, Mind Springs Health offers a continuum of mental health care with crisis response services, offices for outpatient treatment, residential substance use disorder treatment, and West Springs Hospital, which is the only psychiatric hospital with a walk-up, psychiatric emergency department between Denver and Salt Lake City.
On October 24th, 2024, Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II joined the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) at the inaugural Mobility Conference in Detroit to announce six recipients of the $15M Equitable Mobility Challenge. Launched in early 2024, the program sought grant proposals that addressed mobility gaps and improved access to education, jobs, health care, food, and social opportunities.
