UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center (YVMC) is a non-profit, non-tax-supported, independent community hospital. They are dedicated to serving the needs of residents throughout Northwest Colorado and visitors from around the world. YVMC is a 39-bed acute care hospital providing sophisticated medical services to more than 51,000 outpatients annually.
YVMC was founded in 1946. They have continued to grow as the needs of their community have expanded: from dedicating the former Routt County Memorial Hospital in 1950 to opening the present campus in 1999, to guiding their 2008-2010 expansion.
The two major building additions and a series of internal remodeling projects were completed in 2010 at a cost of $13 million. They added 32,000 square feet for the Family Birth Place and Surgical Services. Both areas have experienced steady growth since they opened the doors at their current campus in 1999.
On the YVMC campus you'll find an accredited, full-service acute care hospital including emergency care, surgical services and the Family Birth Place with a Special Care Nursery. They also provide comprehensive therapy and rehabilitation services including a swing unit offering short-term rehabilitation stays. Yampa Valley Medical Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization led by a Board of Directors representing their community. They receive philanthropic support from the Healthcare Foundation for the Yampa Valley.
