Nicholas Trumbo

Nicholas is the Marketing Coordinator for Western Healthcare Alliance and affiliated companies. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design from Colorado Mesa University in 2013. Nicholas spent the next 5 years working in the print and marketing industries and brings that experience with him to WHA. A member of the team since early 2019, Nicholas brings a new approach to marketing and design while keeping true to the ideals and history of WHA.

A family man at heart, Nicholas enjoys spending his down time with those closest to him, preferably somewhere quite and beautiful.

Jo Ellen Hill

Jo Ellen joined Western Healthcare Alliance in August of 2018 as Director of the Central Business Office.  She brings 30 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle to her new position, including patient access, HIM, and patient financial services.

Prior to joining our team, Jo Ellen worked as a consultant and Revenue Cycle Director for large and small hospitals. She was responsible for reducing and maintaining A/R days, DNFB days, implementing point of service collection programs, and mentoring and training team members. She has been involved in EHR and EMR conversions, as well as assisting with implementing new software for clients. Her background also includes hospital, physician, home health, DME, long-term care and hospice accounts receivable.

Shauna Arithson

Shauna joined Western Healthcare Alliance’s Community Care Alliance (CCA) in August of 2018 as the Population Health Manager.  Shauna brings nine years of experience in healthcare to her new role, including a background as a paralegal in medical bill review, payer-provider dispute resolution and reimbursement compliance.  She has a strong background in project management, operational efficiencies and office workflow standardization.

Shauna’s most recent professional experience was as a Practice Transformation Coach where she supported primary care physicians in both Denver metro and rural counties. In that role, she educated and instructed practices in goal setting to meet clinical quality objectives for various healthcare payers and programs including CPC+, NCQA and Health First Colorado’s key performance indicators.

Shauna’s background in communication and compliance, combined with her passion for population health in support of healthcare’s Quadruple Aim of enhancing the patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs and improving clinician experience, make her a great addition to the CCA team.

Jennifer Pepper

Jennifer joined the Western Healthcare Alliance team in August 2015 as administrative assistant. She brought seven years of experience in the role of administrative and executive-level staff support in the credit and collection industry.

In her current position as the WHA Peer Network Coordinator, Jennifer is an integral part of a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring members remain sustainable in their communities. She provides administrative support for over 15 groups and is responsible for meeting coordination, agenda development, member communication, Salesforce database management, development of email campaigns and online registration management.

Cassie Fanning

Cassie is the Client Relations Coordinator for Western Healthcare Alliance and Healthcare Management. She worked in customer service for five years and has four years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in many aspects of healthcare, such as cardiac care, medical staff services and pediatric therapy.

Cassie was born in California but she moved to Grand Junction at an early age, where she lived until she was in high school. At that point she moved back to California, then to Wyoming, but recently found her way back to Grand Junction.

 

Marguerite Tuthill, MPH

Marguerite joined the Community Care Alliance team in May 2015 as an Administrative Fellow. Following the conclusion of her fellowship, she was hired as the CCA’s Planning Analyst before becoming the Network Development Manager in 2018. She is responsible for business and strategy development, concept and program analysis, project management, and monitoring federal and state legislation and health policy activity associated with and/or related to rural health.

Marguerite holds a BA in Ethnic Studies and a Master of Public Health in Public Health Administration and Policy. Her Master’s thesis work focused on the use of publicly available data to inform the decision to create a clinically integrated network in a rural community.

Elizabeth Hanckel, MA, BA

Elizabeth offers more than 35 years of healthcare experience—30 of those as an HR executive and consultant for a variety of healthcare systems and associations. Passionate about her work, she is recognized nationally as a leader in HR strategy and transformation. In addition to interim executive assignments, Elizabeth provides HR consulting services to a variety of healthcare clients.

For the past 15 years, Elizabeth has worked solely as a consultant in the field, guiding healthcare organizations through successful transitions geared toward improving HR strategies and organizational performance. As a partner, she has served as interim Chief Human Resources Officer/Executive with various hospitals and healthcare organizations around the country. She has a broad-based background working with these institutions and handling their unique challenges. Elizabeth’s ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization guarantees long-term positive results and inspires others to reach their full potential.

Prior to her consulting career, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Human Resources at St. Mary’s Health System, Health Services Corporation in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Administrative Director of Human Resources for Inner Harbour Hospitals (HCA) in Douglasville, Georgia, and the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. These in-house positions provided her with a deep appreciation and understanding of the HR challenges organizations face.

Elizabeth is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Management and Society of Human Resource Management. She has worked on the Governor’s Committee for Welfare to Work in Colorado, has served on the Council on Child Abuse in multiple states, and has been a member of numerous United Way committees. She has been quoted in industry publications and makes presentations at various industry events. Elizabeth earned a Master of Arts in HR Development from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Steve Clemmer

Steve is the Assistant Director of Information Technology for Western Healthcare Alliance.  He joined our team in September of 2016 and is responsible for assisting with department oversight, systems and network administration, interfacing client networks for Healthcare Management and Community Care Alliance, and serves as co-facilitator for our IT Peer Network Group.  Steve has over 20 years experience in IT with more than six of those years working in the healthcare industry.

Steve received his education as a Nuclear Engineer while serving in the United States Navy.  He holds certifications for A+, Network+, MCSE, and VMWare+.  He comes to us, most recently, from HopeWest Hospice where he served as their Systems/Network Administrator as well as their HIPAA Security Officer.

Tyler Downing, CPC

Tyler Downing joined the Community Care Alliance (CCA) in August 2017 as the Health Data Informatics Specialist.  He has over 17 years’ experience in healthcare data reporting and predictive analytics, and has been a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) for 5 years.

Prior to joining the CCA, Tyler was the Associate Director of Healthcare Economics for United Healthcare/Optum and the Data Principal for Rocky Mountain Health Plans.  He is also the author of “Comprehensive Healthcare Reporting and Predictive Analytics” which is a textbook aimed at facilitating the development of accurate and intelligent solutions from standard healthcare data sets.  Over the span of his career, Tyler has worked within most facets of healthcare data in both commercial and government markets.

Tyler is passionate about making an improved impact on the state of healthcare costs and quality.  He is very excited to be a part of with CCA and their mission to be leaders in the ACO market and the greater healthcare delivery system. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a second in Theater Arts/Dance.

Joni Fanning

Joni joined the Community Care Alliance team in July of 2017 as Executive Assistant to Connie Mack, Executive Director. She brings over 17 years of experience in executive-level support, office management and event planning. For the first ten years of her career Joni supported the Senior Pastor of Canyon View Vineyard Church in Grand Junction. Her husband’s work then took them to California and Wyoming, respectively. For three years she was Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Joni and her husband recently moved back to Grand Junction where they are happy to be reunited with their family, grandchildren and friends.
