Three WHA Members Named on Becker’s List of 472 Hospitals Honored for Patient Safety & Price Transparency

Less than 20% of the nation’s hospitals were recognized for excellent patient safety ratings and the highest level of adherence to federal price transparency rules.

On April 9, the Health Transformation Alliance, The Leapfrog Group and Turquoise Health honored 472 hospitals across 42 states. Each of the organizations received a Leapfrog “A” safety rating and the highest price transparency score from Turquoise Health.

Delta Health is Improving Behavioral Healthcare for the Community

Due to the closure of Integrated Insight Therapy with the subsequent loss of behavioral health support for hundreds of patients and dozens of qualified staff out of work, Delta Health has found ourselves in the unique position of being able to hire qualified Behavioral Health Providers (BHP’s). This is a great turn of events for us, as the statistic where we live is one behavioral health clinician for approximately every 847 people. We are fortunate to be able to onboard new clinicians to our hospital system.

New Patient Beds Funded by Donations from San Luis Valley Health Employees

A special acknowledgment is due to Kelly Gurule, SLVH Foundation Director, who played a pivotal role in securing funding for two new hydraulic patient beds, significantly enhancing the care experience for our young patients. These beds were made possible by the generous donations from SLVH employees through their annual giving campaign, underscoring the collective effort and spirit of our organization.

Community Hospital’s Western Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Western Colorado Spine Certified as Joint Commission Center of Excellence

Community Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Western Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Western Colorado Spine Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

Middle Park Health Plans to Break Ground on Fraser Hospital on April 25th

Middle Park Health plans to build a two-story 30,000-square-foot hospital near Telemark Drive and U.S. Highway 40 in Fraser called MPH-Fraser Campus. The first floor will have four emergency exam rooms, two trauma bays, two licensed hospital beds, and CT scan, X-ray and lab services. The plan also includes a helicopter pad for emergency services. The second floor will be used for expanding community needs.
