Angelina is the Chief Executive Officer of Western Healthcare Alliance.  She joined the WHA team in May, 2016 to strengthen and lead the marketing and communications programs for our family of organizations.  She started out her career in education and soon found herself in the world of nonprofits, quickly advancing her role from outreach coordinator to regional development director for a national nonprofit.  After many years of developing programming and support, Angelina was recruited to enter the realm of healthcare. She started in marketing for a critical access hospital and quickly advanced to director of customer service, marketing, community relations and development.  Prior to joining WHA, she held the executive position of Vice President of Business Development for Family Health West.  In that role, she oversaw all communications, volunteers, marketing, physician services and identified business development opportunities.  She established and implemented the infrastructure to support the organization through state and federal grants, fundraising events and the establishment of a foundation.  In addition, she has been active in her community serving as both board and committee member for several local nonprofit entities including Marillac Clinic, United Way, Riverside Education Center, Rotary and the Grand Junction Economic Partnership.  Her relationships in the community helped to build visibility, impact and financial stability.

Angelina possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Spanish, two Master of Arts Degrees in Language Acquisition and Psychology as well as a certification in mediation and conflict resolution.

As CFO, Bill develops effective strategies and identifies opportunities to maximize our organizational impact for WHA’s rural members and clients. He serves as a member of the senior leadership team and is actively involved in ensuring WHA meets the needs of our members and clients.

“I’m excited to join this great team and be a part of this long-established, member-oriented organization. As CFO, my priorities will be the continued monitoring, evaluation, and management of financial activities. More importantly, I seek to become a valued adviser to WHA’s CEO, other staff, and to the organization as a whole as it faces future opportunities and challenges.”

Bill joins WHA after serving as CFO for Reynolds Polymer Technology based in Grand Junction, Colorado. Prior to joining Reynolds, Bill worked for several large national and international material supply and construction firms in various CFO roles and capacities in both Wyoming and Iowa.

Having been born in Montrose and growing up in Grand Junction, he feels deeply connected to the people and the lifestyle of western Colorado. Bill studied accounting at Colorado State University, is currently a licensed CPA, and is an MBA candidate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Elizabeth offers more than 35 years of healthcare experience—30 of those as an HR executive and consultant for a variety of healthcare systems and associations. Passionate about her work, she is recognized nationally as a leader in HR strategy and transformation. In addition to interim executive assignments, Elizabeth provides HR consulting services to a variety of healthcare clients.

For the past 15 years, Elizabeth has worked solely as a consultant in the field, guiding healthcare organizations through successful transitions geared toward improving HR strategies and organizational performance. As a partner, she has served as interim Chief Human Resources Officer/Executive with various hospitals and healthcare organizations around the country. She has a broad-based background working with these institutions and handling their unique challenges. Elizabeth’s ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization guarantees long-term positive results and inspires others to reach their full potential.

Prior to her consulting career, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Human Resources at St. Mary’s Health System, Health Services Corporation in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Administrative Director of Human Resources for Inner Harbour Hospitals (HCA) in Douglasville, Georgia, and the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. These in-house positions provided her with a deep appreciation and understanding of the HR challenges organizations face.

Elizabeth is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Society for Healthcare Human Resource Management and Society of Human Resource Management. She has worked on the Governor’s Committee for Welfare to Work in Colorado, has served on the Council on Child Abuse in multiple states, and has been a member of numerous United Way committees. She has been quoted in industry publications and makes presentations at various industry events. Elizabeth earned a Master of Arts in HR Development from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Connie Mack became the Executive Director for WHA's Community Care Alliance (CCA) in January 2017.  She comes to CCA from Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO, where she was the Vice President of Business Development. As a senior leader at Community Hospital, Connie was responsible for business relations, physician relations and recruitment, health promotion and coaching, employee wellness, and the retail pharmacies. During her most recent years at Community, Connie was instrumental in developing direct partnerships with employer groups to explore innovative ways to deliver healthcare with the goal of achieving long-term population health management that reduces healthcare costs and improve health outcomes.

Connie’s qualifications and experience are in perfect alignment with the mission of the CCA.  She holds a BS in Exercise Science and Nutrition and a MA in Health Promotion and Behavior. As Executive Director, she will continue to support CCA’s two Accountable Care Organizations by focusing on data analytics integration and fostering the shift from volume- to value-based care delivery.  Beyond the ACOs, she will work to develop creative partnerships and innovative solutions for area employers. She will also work with payers, providers and members to examine and implement value-based reimbursement models to keep care local, focus on best practices, respond to healthcare reform, and promote independence and overall community economic sustainability.

Bobbie Orchard

Bobbie is the Director of Marketing for Western Healthcare Alliance.  In this role, Bobbie leads the efforts in our communication strategies at in-person meetings, industry conferences, and online at WHA1.org, HCMColorado.comN2NStrategies.com,  CommunityCareAlliance.com, as well as other online domains and mediums.  She is responsible for the coordination of program materials, logistics and team resources, website development, and administration of our Client Relations Management software to help us more effectively provide services to members and clients.

Her diverse professional background includes positions as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant for a large law firm in Denver, Director of Revenue Management with Starwood Hotels, and Executive Director for the Fruita Chamber of Commerce.  She joined the WHA team in 2007 and has over 20 years of executive-level support experience including meeting and event planning, office management, and marketing activities.  Bobbie earned her Associates Degree from the Colorado Institute of Art.

Pilar is the Director of Outreach for Western Healthcare Alliance and Healthcare Management. Pilar leads the Revenue Cycle group, facilitates the CFO Peer Network group, provides outreach services to increase member awareness of WHA menu of services, acts as the go-to resource for healthcare industry trends and information, provides dedicated customer service to ensure member retention, and spends more time member facilities.

Pilar joined the team in 2007 and has over 25 years of Customer Service experience. She has spent the past eight years in healthcare as an Admissions Manager, PFS Director, Consultant and Trainer on Admissions, Customer Service, and Upfront Collections and Charity.  Pilar is currently an officer of HFMA, Colorado Chapter.  She has served as board member of AAHAM, and has a certificate in Business Administration from Mesa State.

Jo Ellen joined Western Healthcare Alliance in August of 2018 as Director of the Central Business Office and became Director of Revenue Cycle Services in early 2019. She brings 30 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle to her new position, including patient access, HIM, and patient financial services.

Prior to joining our team, Jo Ellen worked as a consultant and Revenue Cycle Director for large and small hospitals. She was responsible for reducing and maintaining A/R days, DNFB days, implementing point of service collection programs, and mentoring and training team members. She has been involved in EHR and EMR conversions, as well as assisting with implementing new software for clients. Her background also includes hospital, physician, home health, DME, long-term care and hospice accounts receivable.

Stephen is the Director of Information Technology for Western Healthcare Alliance.  He joined the team in 2005 and responsible for maintaining company-wide IT infrastructure, providing IT support to staff, and interfacing networks with clients.  He is also responsible for the development and enforcement of HIPAA/HITECH, PCI DSS, and other state and federal information systems regulations.

Stephen has a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics from Wayland Baptist University, as well as a Masters of Education from Eastern New Mexico University.  He also holds a graduate degree in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico where he later became the Director of Computer Services for the School of Medicine.  He also held the position of Director of Information Services for Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colorado, for 10 years.

Steve is the Assistant Director of Information Technology for Western Healthcare Alliance.  He joined our team in September of 2016 and is responsible for assisting with department oversight, systems and network administration, interfacing client networks for Healthcare Management and Community Care Alliance, and serves as co-facilitator for our IT Peer Network Group.  Steve has over 20 years experience in IT with more than six of those years working in the healthcare industry.

Steve received his education as a Nuclear Engineer while serving in the United States Navy.  He holds certifications for A+, Network+, MCSE, and VMWare+.  He comes to us, most recently, from HopeWest Hospice where he served as their Systems/Network Administrator as well as their HIPAA Security Officer.

Marguerite joined the Community Care Alliance team in May 2015 as an Administrative Fellow. Following the conclusion of her fellowship, she was hired as the CCA’s Planning Analyst before becoming the Network Development Manager in 2018. She is responsible for business and strategy development, concept and program analysis, project management, and monitoring federal and state legislation and health policy activity associated with and/or related to rural health.

Marguerite holds a BA in Ethnic Studies and a Master of Public Health in Public Health Administration and Policy. Her Master’s thesis work focused on the use of publicly available data to inform the decision to create a clinically integrated network in a rural community.

Data Innovation Manager, Community Care Alliance

Tyler Downing joined the Community Care Alliance (CCA) in August 2017 as the Health Data Informatics Specialist.  He has over 17 years’ experience in healthcare data reporting and predictive analytics, and has been a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) for 5 years.

Prior to joining the CCA, Tyler was the Associate Director of Healthcare Economics for United Healthcare/Optum and the Data Principal for Rocky Mountain Health Plans.  He is also the author of “Comprehensive Healthcare Reporting and Predictive Analytics” which is a textbook aimed at facilitating the development of accurate and intelligent solutions from standard healthcare data sets.  Over the span of his career, Tyler has worked within most facets of healthcare data in both commercial and government markets.

Tyler is passionate about making an improved impact on the state of healthcare costs and quality.  He is very excited to be a part of with CCA and their mission to be leaders in the ACO market and the greater healthcare delivery system. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a second in Theater Arts/Dance.

Cathryn has worn many hats in the course of her career culminating in a well-rounded understanding of the operations and people within practices and health systems. Cathryn is excited to bring this experience to CCA where she will utilize her skillset to forge relationships as a trusted advisor, skilled coach and facilitator for CCA’s two Accountable Care Organizations. As the Population Health Manager, she will mentor practice teams to identify, analyze and develop strategies to enhance operations, workflows and culture to advance clinical outcomes, optimize patient experiences and shift workflows to meet value-based care delivery care outcomes. Cathryn believes in collaboration and has developed strong professional roots in Colorado and beyond to draw on and keep current within this challenging health care ecosystem. Some of her favorite projects have been training practices for Medicated Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder, utilizing focus groups to develop best practices related to preventive screening and care coordination in conjunction with Colorado Department of Health and Environment and University of Colorado, Department of Colorectal Research which increased colorectal screening by 18% where the national average was 1.2% for the same timeline/criteria. Cathryn worked in collaboration with Family Medicine and their Practice Innovation Program and reported an average overall MIPS practice score of 98% for the practices she consulted with. Cathryn has extensive experience with small one provider practices to large hospital systems and their affiliated networks. Cathryn’s passion is to bring health to practices resulting in HAPPINESS at the workplace!

Kathryn joined Western Healthcare Alliance’s Community Care Alliance in September 2016 as the Quality Improvement Specialist.  Kathryn brings six years of experience as a quality improvement professional to her new role, having worked with practice transformation programs in Colorado and nationally.  Her skill set also includes a strong background in clinical practice settings, optimizing office workflows, coaching, communication, and collaborative networking in organizational settings to maximize quality objectives.

Her most recent work experience was with the National Rural Accountable Care Consortium as a Regional Quality Manager, serving remotely from Western Colorado.  Her focus was on TCPI transformation work, bringing technical assistance and education to practices to prepare for the transition to value-based medicine.  Prior to her work with NRACC, she worked with the Colorado Rural Health Center as a Quality Improvement Specialist.  In that position, she was a statewide contact with the State Office of Colorado Rural Health that included oversight of 45 clinics.

Her background in rural health, practice education, workflow analysis, process mapping, clinical health coaching, PCMH, and quality data reporting make her a seasoned and effective member of the CCA team.

Summer joined Western Healthcare Alliance in September 2016 as an Administrative Assistant. With over six years of experience in executive-level support, she is well-suited for her role supporting WHA’s leadership team. In January 2019, Summer was promoted to the Executive Assistant role for WHA. In this role she continues to support Angelina and the leadership team, assists coordinating Leadership Academy and serves as the Executive Assistant to the WHA Board of Directors and committees. She has been instrumental in helping Angelina build a new and enhanced Leadership Academy curriculum and many more projects.

For three years, before joining WHA, Summer worked as an Administrative Assistant for a local Grand Junction company. In this role, she gained a copious amount of experience in human resources, payroll, billing, accounts payable, travel arrangements, customer service, problem-solving, technology integration and safety. In addition, she produced the company's quarterly newsletter and streamlined many processes.  

Summer earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College.

Joni joined the Community Care Alliance team in July of 2017 as Executive Assistant to Connie Mack, Executive Director. She brings over 17 years of experience in executive-level support, office management and event planning. For the first ten years of her career Joni supported the Senior Pastor of Canyon View Vineyard Church in Grand Junction. Her husband’s work then took them to California and Wyoming, respectively. For three years she was Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Joni and her husband recently moved back to Grand Junction where they are happy to be reunited with their family, grandchildren and friends.

Nicholas is the Marketing Coordinator for Western Healthcare Alliance and affiliated companies. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design from Colorado Mesa University in 2013. Nicholas spent the next 5 years working in the print and marketing industries and brings that experience with him to WHA. A member of the team since early 2019, Nicholas brings a new approach to marketing and design while keeping true to the ideals and history of WHA.

A family man at heart, Nicholas enjoys spending his down time with those closest to him, preferably somewhere quite and beautiful.

Lindsay is the Human Resources Coordinator for Western Healthcare Alliance and Healthcare Management. Lindsay began her career at WHA in 2012 as the Peer Network Coordinator and then moved into the role of Administrative Assistant for the California Critical Access Hospital Network. In 2015 Lindsay was promoted to the role of Executive Assistant for WHA, and in 2019 became the Human Resources Coordinator.

Lindsay has over seven years’ experience supporting executive level leadership and uses her background in hospitality and marketing to coordinate numerous meetings for WHA and its managed networks. She is experienced and familiar with our Peer Networks, programs, services, and developing initiatives, and acts as a point person for member support.

Lindsay earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Marketing from Mesa State College.

Jennifer joined the Western Healthcare Alliance team in August 2015 as administrative assistant. She brought seven years of experience in the role of administrative and executive-level staff support in the credit and collection industry.

In her current position as the WHA Peer Network Coordinator, Jennifer is an integral part of a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring members remain sustainable in their communities. She provides administrative support for over 15 groups and is responsible for meeting coordination, agenda development, member communication, Salesforce database management, development of email campaigns and online registration management.

Cassie is the Outreach Coordinator for Western Healthcare Alliance and Healthcare Management. She worked in customer service for five years and has four years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in many aspects of healthcare, such as cardiac care, medical staff services and pediatric therapy.

Cassie was born in California but she moved to Grand Junction at an early age, where she lived until she was in high school. At that point she moved back to California, then to Wyoming, but recently found her way back to Grand Junction.
